80K Bellatorum Resources Pro Classic Wild Card Tournament Concludes at Tyler Athletic and Swim Club

Allura Zamarripa Advances to Singles Qualifier and Broadus/Collins Earn Spot in Main Draw Doubles

Tyler, TX (October 13, 2020) – Sunday marked the conclusion of the $80K Bellatorum Resources Pro Challenge Wild Card Tournament. Allura Zamarripa took home the singles title and has been awarded a wild card into the qualifying draw for the Bellatorum Resources Pro Classic, an $80K USTA Pro Circuit event.

On the doubles side, American team Savannah Broadus and Kylie Collins took home the victory and have received a Main Draw wild card.

Zamarripa, a 2019 US Open Junior main draw competitor, had not dropped a set approaching the championship match against 23 year-old Sophie Chang. After losing the first set to Chang 5-7, Zamarripa fought back to take the second 6-1 before clinching the match in a close 12-10 third set tiebreaker.

Zamarripa also attempted to qualify on the doubles side with her twin sister, Maribella, but the duo fell short in an 8-9(7) loss to high school seniors Broadus and Collins.

“I’d like to thank all the players that came out and competed in this year’s $80K Bellatorum Resources Pro Classic Wild Card Tournament,” said Rob Lowe, Tournament Director. “It was a great weekend of high level tennis, and I am looking forward to seeing Allura compete in the qualifying draw, and our doubles champions making an impact in the main draw.”

The John Newcombe Country Club in New Braunfels, Texas, will host the $1K Next Level Orthodontics Pro Challenge Wild Card Tournament this weekend from October 16-18. This will be the final wild card opportunity before the Bellatorum Resources Pro Classic begins on Monday, October 26.
